Bill often wonders what the parents of amusingly-named children were thinking. Until recently, these unfortunate individuals had remained outside of the pensions industry – fund manager employee Regina Minger always caused Bill to laugh immaturely, as did the journalist Roger Boyes (especially when he wrote an exposé on the Vienna Church choir’s abuse of children). But now the pensions world has it’s very own amusingly-named man – step forward Randy Guy, managing director of technology at Omgeo.

The UK Leadership of Pensions Summit was brought to standstill by an admission from an audience member that he received emails about Viagra. He was trying to demonstrate that online viral marketing campaigns don’t always work, but was sadly drowned out by titters from his peers.

The Money Advice Service is an elegant and innovative way of providing consumers with much needed help to access financial services products.

  • Absolutely. Should have happened years ago.
  • It's a start. Let's hope it's a solid foundation.

  • It's not advice, but you only find that out in the small print, which nobody reads.
